About Me

My name is Keiran Stewart-Assheton. I’m a proud Wani-Wandian man from the Yuin Nation on the south coast of what is commonly known as New South Wales. I’m a writer, radio host, public educator, and organiser dedicated to truth-telling, justice, and the revitalisation of First Nations sovereignty, culture, and law.

Over the years, I’ve worked across community, media, and political spaces to challenge dominant narratives and amplify First Nations voices. I’m the founding president of the Black Peoples Union and currently serve as the Education Officer. I am also the First Nations Officer for the Renters and Housing Union.

I host the radio program Yillamin and co-host Earth Matters on 3CR, in which I centre Indigenous perspectives on resistance, land, and liberation. I’ve also worked as a campaigner, advisor, and speaker across a wide range of issues — from environmental justice to mental health, history education, and grassroots organising.

I believe in the power of storytelling, political education, and collective action. Whether I’m speaking on radio, writing an article, or sitting down with students in a classroom, my work is always rooted in cultural responsibility, respect for Country, and a commitment to building a more just and liberated future.

I created this website as a way to bring all of my work into one accessible place — a central space where people can read my writing, listen to my radio shows, follow my projects, and get in touch. It’s also a way to support the work I do. Much of my organising, speaking, and media work is unpaid and unfunded, but sales from my merchandise and donations help me cover essential costs like travel, research, and community engagement. If you’ve found value in what I share, your support means a lot and helps keep this work going.
