Book Me

Walawaani! My name is Keiran Stewart-Assheton and I am a proud Wani-Wandian man from the Yuin Nation, a respected radio host, writer, and public educator with deep knowledge of First Nations history, culture, and politics. With years of experience speaking across community, educational, and professional settings, I bring insight, passion, and clarity to complex topics in ways that engage audiences of all ages and backgrounds.

Whether it’s for students or teachers; employees or employers; or community-based initiatives — I offer tailored sessions to suit a wide range of audiences and needs. I’ve delivered workshops, lectures, and keynote talks across schools, universities, unions, workplaces, and community organisations, both in-person and online.

Some of the services I offer include:

  • Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) consultation, implementation and support

  • Cultural awareness and sensitivity training

  • Development of First Nations related policies and procedures

  • Workshops on First Nations culture, history, and/or politics

  • Sessions on sovereignty, self-determination, treaty, truth-telling and justice

  • Keynote speaking, panel participation, and motivational political education tailored to your audience

  • NAIDOC and other cultural events

I bring with me a strong foundation of cultural, political, and historical knowledge, grounded in lived experience and community accountability. I’ve previously drafted internal policy and procedure frameworks for government departments and institutions and developed First Nations policies and action plans for political parties, unions, and community organisations. Over the years, I’ve facilitated educational and strategic sessions for primary and high schools, universities, government departments, unions, and community groups.

Sessions can be delivered online, in-person, or in hybrid formats depending on your needs and location. If you're unsure what might work best for your audience, I’m happy to help you plan it out.

To start the process, fill out the expression of interest form below and I’ll be in touch to help tailor something for your needs.

Note: Don’t have the budget to cover what you’re after? Reach out anyway, I am happy to discuss what’s possible and work with you to fit your needs.

Testimonials

“I’ve worked with Keiran on two book projects over the past year. In both instances I enjoyed his creativity, deep and wide-ranging cultural and political knowledge, and his intellectual generosity. It’s rare to meet someone as well-read as Keiran, even as a publisher. I feel certain that whoever has the privilege of working with and receiving consultation from Keiran will be grateful for the measurable improvement he brings to their project.”
— Tess Cullity, Publisher at Slingshot Books

“I invited Keiran Stewart-Assheton to give a lecture to undergraduate students at Western Sydney University in 2023. His lecture on the history of Indigenous dispossession as a result of colonisation was informative, accessible and evidence-based. In 2024, I interviewed Keiran for my book The New Racial Regime. His valuable insights helped me to develop my argument in a chapter on ‘Capturing Indigeneity, Colonising Decolonisation’. I thoroughly recommend Keiran as an educator and political analyst whose deep grounding in Indigenous, anticolonial and materialist history and politics is indispensable.”
— Professor Alana Lentin, Western Sydney University

“In 2024, I invited Keiran to contribute an article to ‘The Sunday Paper’. His writing brought a depth of historical literacy and revolutionary clarity to our Resistance issue. Since then, I’ve enjoyed Keiran’s ongoing friendship and camaraderie. My own creative practice is continually enriched by his broad cultural knowledge, courageous critical analyses, and uncompromised commitment to collective liberation. Do yourself a favour and follow Keiran’s work. He’ll bless you with the most uncomfortable truths — often years before they enter the popular discourse.”
— Matt Chun, Artist, Writer, Picture Book Creator
